I thought this article about 50 foods pregnant moms should eat, was interesting.
Some were obvious like apples and some were surprising like Swiss Chard.
What is Swiss Chard anyway?
I loved working with Hope and Lex. I was looking foward to sharing their birthing day. I was sorry it was so short for me, (though it worked out just like it needed to.)
Here is a link to Hope’s Blog post about Alexandra’s birth.
Enjoy!
You know I am a sucker for a good VBAC story.
Well, there is a new one posted at La Mejor Vida. 10 pound 8 oz VBAC! You go girl!
I am making new Online Childbirth Classes and need some help naming them.
Here are the details, and a sample class. Please visit and check it out!
***These classes are NOT related to Hypnobabies, however they will be “safe” for moms studying hypnosis for childbirth.
I thought of these 2 choices…
Enjoy Birth Online Classes
Short and Sweet Childbirth Classes
You can let me know if you like either one better, but again I would love suggestions, so please post your ideas here!
If I pick your suggestion you win a Free Birth Book! I am clearing out my birth book library and will give you a few choices and you can choose the one you want!
BTW, I totally redid my website. Do you like it?
I love to see research that supports what so many of us already know!
Talks about a study which show some benefits that can be derived from delaying cord clamping!
I found a lovely new blog by a midwife.
The first post I read by her was titled Vita Mutari which means life transformation and it is what she wants to call pressure waves now. Because who can tell anyone what it feels like, they feel different for everyone, but are powerful and life changing!
Lovely idea.
I got this lovely e-mail and wanted to pass it on.
Hi Sheridan,
My name is Megan Hopper and I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication at the University of Missouri. I am currently working on my dissertation, which looks at how pregnant women evaluate magazines and magazine content specifically targeted at them. This survey is part of a larger goal to examine the messages distributed to pregnant women.
I recently discovered your Enjoy Birth blog and Pregnancy, Birth, and Babies website and I was wondering if there was any way you could post the link to the online survey I am having pregnant women fill out on your blog or website or mention the study in some way. The link to the online survey is: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3MDC7C2
By taking part in the study, each pregnant woman will get a chance to win one of three $50 gift certificates to Amazon.com.
Also, I will be more than happy to provide you with the results of my study after it is completed to possibly discuss on your blog or website. I hope to get pregnant women a louder and more recognized voice in our society! Please let me know if this is a possibility.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Megan Hopper
I think it is an interesting topic and thought I would pass it on, in case you want to have your voice heard!
So my Brother and Sister and Law and their 5 kids are visiting. They got here late Thursday night.
I leave early Sunday morning for Orlando, with my 3 boys for a family wedding AND we will probably spend at least 3 days at amusement parks while there. DH is not coming because he has to work.
Saturday we are spending a good chunk of the day at a dance competition for my nephew (which is why they are visiting.)
I meant to pack before they got here, but my overnight birth messed up my schedule. It takes me a good 2 days to recover from an overnight birth. I function, but not very effectively. (I can feed my kids and get them places and that is about it, any extra things go out the window.)
They wanted to go to an amusement park here on Friday. I really didn’t want to go. I needed to pack and to get things done before I left. So I offered to stay home and watch the 3 littlest kids, so they can go on fun rides and I can get things done. Win/Win.
My DH took Friday off so he could go and he sort of thinks I am Lame for not going. It is true, I am sort of a homebody, so it sometimes takes some convincing to get me to go fun places. BUT, if I wasn’t leaving town Sunday morning I would have totally gone. AND it hopefully helped the 8 who did go, to have a better time.
So what do you think?
I just spent 30 min writing a wonderful post about how I was tagged and then shared my 3 new blogs with my readers.
I posted it and it was BLANK! Seeing as I have playgroup with 7 kids arriving in 10 minutes you now get the very short version.
Loving and Supporting Mama’s and Babies: Tagged me. I love her blog too, go and enjoy!
Here are my 3 new ones to recommend.
Expecting Words: Just started reading, seems fun. I so believe in the power of words, so her blog is very intriguing to me. At your cervix just did a nice guest post there about Taking Charge of Your Birth. I love her blog too!
La Mejor Vida: Newer Doula, who shares wonderful birth stories and glimpses into her busy life. Very inspirational to me.
Bri’s Thoughts: Bri was one of my Hypnobabies Students who moved far away, but we keep tabs on each other via our blogs. Her DH is volunteering in Haiti right now as a doctor. I am loving hearing all about that.
Tag, the 3 of you are now IT! Tell the world I tagged you and then share 3 blogs you love!
