pregnant mom worried about baby's movements

Kick Counts Saved My Baby’s Life

I am so grateful for a Baby Story TV show I saw while I was pregnant with Devon.

A mom shared a story about kick counting and how it changed the outcome of her pregnancy.

Doing Kick Counts is Easy

I was on bedrest with Devon and had plenty of time to do kick counts.  I woke up one morning and soon noticed Devon wasn’t moving….

Because I had seen that show, I knew I had to take action.

When I noticed he wasn’t moving, I called the Dr.

What I did saved his life!

My OB had me come in to do a non-stress test and we discovered he was under distress and needed to be born right away.  I had an emergency cesarean and when they took him out they discovered the cord was wrapped around his neck 3 times.

My friends baby wasn’t moving as much, I should have warned her!

One of my biggest regrets in life, is a few years later my friend called me to say her baby wasn’t moving as much as usual.

She knew the story about Devon and I did say, do your kick counts and if you are worried call your doctor.

She did track his movements and her baby moved a bit.

She called back 2 days later and was still worried.

If you are worried about your baby’s movements – call your Doctor now!

Then I got serious and said, “Call your doctor now!”

She did and by the time she went in, it was too late.

Her baby was born stillborn a few hours later. It was so sad.

I wish the first time she called I had insisted she call her doctor!

So that is why I tell this story.

If you are concerned, honor that!

Call your doctor right now.

Sharing is caring!
