Center Switch Questions!
(Disclaimer: This is not an official Hypnobabies answer.
This is just from my personal experience as a Hypnobabies Instructor
and working with moms from the Hypnobabies Yahoo Group.)
Can I move my Arms?
While the anesthesia is in your arms and hands, you can still move them. They are not in the limp/loose suggestion. Also the anesthesia you are creating allows you to feel normal touch, just no pain.
This confused me at first too. The reason why she includes arms in the anesthesia area is for IV's etc. But you CAN move them!
Maybe think of it as dental anesthesia. When the dentist numbs your mouth, you can still move your jaw and tongue, but it just has no feeling.
How can I turn to Center?
Everyone turns to center differently. I know we are supposed to count to 2, but as long as mentally you are turning to center, whether that is imagining the switch moving to center, counting to 2, saying center... whatever works best for you!
How do I turn from Center to Off?
However works best for you! Some just imagine turning their light switch back off. Some just say off in their minds. I would actually drop my finger again. Some just count down 3,2,1.
Any of these ways is correct.
Just choose the one that makes the most sense for you or make something else up.
Opening Eyes in Center?
I was often so relaxed while practicing center it was hard to open my eyes as well. :)
Can I listen to a whole CD in Center?
Listening in center is ok! If it helps you be more comfortable and relaxed. ;)
Moving around in Center?
You can get up and practice moving around in center. I can't remember where or if it talks about that in the Home Study. But in the Live course we do suggest moms do that, try going to the bathroom in center or walk around a bit.
Even if you don't practice you still would be able to during your birthing time.
