I was excited to see the challenge of the week from Simple Mom blog.
I actually had done this for my clothes a few weeks ago.
But I was wanting to do it with my hubby. He hasn’t gone through his clothes in at least 7 years (since we moved to this house) His clothes were overflowing from the closet and the dresser. I didn’t have any place to put his clean clothes, so I would put them on the dresser, but then sometimes he would end up putting them back in the wash because he wasn’t sure what was clean.
I had been talking up the idea for the few weeks since I had done it and was really encouraging him to do it. He finally did and I am so happy with the results.
It had taken me about 1.5 hours to go through my things. It took him 4 to go through all his clothes. He tried on almost every piece and really thought about things.
When all was said and done, we had plenty of room to add a closet organizer for his T-shirts, which he hates to have hanging up, his jeans, sweats, etc. Leaving I was excited about this, because then there would be a space for all of his clean clothes. No more washing clean things!
So I built and organized the closet cubes and then put those things in it. We also put the things he kept hanging backwards into his closet, so in 6 months we can see what he has not worn! (I did this on my side too)
It took way longer than he and I expected, but it was a long time coming and he and I are thrilled!
