One of my favorite things in Hypnobabies, is something I don’t like to use. But I am so glad it is there if I need it.

If I like it, why wouldn’t I like to use it?

Because it is the Change in Plans Script, so if I am using it, it means something is not going as originally hoped.

Birth is unpredictable.  We plan for the best and usually things go smoothly.  But sometimes something happens that requires a change in plans.

• It can be fairly simple, like needing an IV.
• Or it may be more involved, like needing an induction.
• Or maybe mom is tired and needs an epidural
• Or maybe even an unexpected cesarean.

Wonderful Tool

Hypnobabies has a wonderful tool at the end of the Birth Partner’s Guide.  It is a short, 2 page Change of Plans Script and it can be used in any situation.

We don’t recommend moms read it. Dads don’t even need to look at it unless it is needed.  So I had never read it until I was in Hypnobabies Instructor Training. It was beautiful and it made me cry.  To think that Kerry saw and understood the need for this script.  To know it was there if any of my students or clients ever needed it. It touched me.  Maybe because I had a birth where it would have been so helpful.

Luckily I haven’t used it a lot

I have only used it a handful of times as a doula.  Each time I have, I am so grateful it is there.

It is another example how Hypnobabies can be really beneficial for any mom, regardless of the path her birth takes.
