I am not referring to the birds and the bees, I am referring to my post yesterday about saving the bees from certain death.

Sometimes I wonder if the information I share on my blog makes a difference.  Is it worth the time I take?  Am I helping moms empower themselves to enjoy their births?  That is one reason I decided to write a book, that could be shared by anyone.  I thought it would help get the information out there to more moms.

A lot of us bloggers wonder the same thing.  Does the information we share matter?

It is wonderful when we find out we DO make a difference.  But I digress, how are bees and birth related?

It is the power of sharing information.

Let me tell you about Angela.

She had two typical hospital births and was not very happy with how her births went.  When she was pregnant with her third, she was planning another hospital birth, but quite a few different moms shared with her about homebirth.

Why did they share?  I don’t know.  Maybe she told them about her previous births and how she wasn’t happy with them.  But regardless of why, they did share information with her and then she did more research and choose at around 36 weeks to have a homebirth.  She had a very positive birth experience.

My neighbor telling me about the bee relocation company helped me to realize I had more options then just killing the bees, this allowed me to do research and make a choice!   Angela didn’t even realize homebirth was an option until people started telling her.

Her story doesn’t stop there.  She soon became pregnant with her 4th baby and moved to a new town.  Her MIL urged her to not tell anyone about her homebirth plans.  (Worried they would think she was strange.) But Angela shared with anyone who was interested, she knew the power of information!

I actually met Angela at the park one day.  Noticing she was pregnant I asked if she needed a referral to an OB, you can imagine my joy when she said she was planning a homebirth.  She also had heard about Hypnobabies and was interested in learning more!  I of course shared more information and she ended up taking my class.   She had an enjoyable, comfortable homebirth using Hypnobabies.

(I will be sharing her birth video in the next few days!)
