Funny Doula Posts

Thanks to Inspired Birth Pro for pointing these out.

The first is from MODG posting about the Secrets Hippies Have I had to LOL because she is so funny.  Here is a brief look:

They were like, you know what? My husband is a lame tard and I don’t trust him at all to do the stuff I need when I give birth and I may squeeze his head off with the forceps. I am going to hire a personal assistant who does whatever I say and who is a baby birth expert and I’m going to call it something hippie sounding like “Doula” so they get confused and just go along with it.

Then there is the post about I Pity the Doula.  I had to laugh and say, “I hear you!” when he said:

There are several reasons why I would make a better, oh, I don’t know, professional wrestler, snake charmer, conservative Republican lobbyist, anything than I would make a doula. One of these is the schedule. You’re on call, a la ER, 24/7 until that baby arrives, is home, is nursing, is pooping in its diapers, and the parents are slightly less than shell-shocked.

It is the only part I don’t love about being a doula.
