One of my biggest “hits” on my blog is for PUPPS. Which is a pregnancy rash. I had it with Bryson and it wasn’t fun.
Here is another not fun skin condition – molluscum
When Bryson was 2 he developed Molluscum Contagiosum which is a rash that doctors typically say just needs to run its course. But it is pretty scary looking and not very comfortable.
I was just letting it run its course, per my pediatricians advice. But after 6 months without it seeming to get any better I thought I need to try to do SOMETHING.
I went online to see what I could find. Some people were selling their special cures. But I found a simple idea that cost only a box of band-aids and a bottle of tea tree essential oil (you can buy at Henry’s or Mother’s Market)
It took about 6 -8 weeks to finally be GONE!
The problem is when the rash pustules “burst” (think of a zit poppint) the virus is in the pus and that is how it spreads and the child keeps getting reinfected.
So I showered him every day (not really every day, but often), using a new towel EACH time (I definitely did this). I then put a drop of tea tree essential oil on each mollescum and a circle bandaid on each one. He started off with 16 bandaids. His were mostly on his legs and bottom. I would continue to put bandaids on until a few days after they had popped. But would still put tea tree oil on each one until they disappeared. Within a week we were down to 10 bandaids and then 7 and then 5 and then 3. They slowly disappeared. We have had no band-aids for 3 months now.
It was completely natural. A bit time consuming, but after having him reinfect himself for months it was worth the time and energy to me!
