Hypnobabies for Snorkeling?

My DH and I went down to Mexico for a lovely get away without our Three Things.

It was lovely.  Lots of Resting and Reading and Eating.  I would be happy to hang out on the beach or by the pool every day.  Sadly my DH likes to have fun.  So we also went on some “fun” excursions.

They were all great, but I was nervous about snorkeling.  I have never enjoyed snorkeling.  I do fine until I see the fish, then I sort of freak out!

Fish, swimming close to me.  Not fun at all.

Well I was explaining this to a timeshare presenter (we love getting free stuff at timeshare presentations).  I had just told her about Hypnobabies and how awesome hypnosis for childbirth works.

She said, “You should use your hypnosis while you snorkel.”

A lightbulb went off in my head!  “Duh!”

So when we headed out to snorkel I reminded myself… I can do this.  Then I got in the water and was doing fine.  I saw some fish.  I started saying to myself  “Relax… I am safe and my baby is safe.”  Well, since I am not pregnant, I had to change that.  “Relax… I am safe and my body is safe.”

Withing a minute or two I was feeling calm and was able to enjoy snorkeling.  It was the best time I ever had snorkeling.

So Yay for Hypnobabies!
