Wow, Crazy Cesareans take the Cake!

I remember reading A Thousand Splendid Suns and being so disturbed by the cesarean done on the mom with the breech baby WITHOUT anesthesia.  The hospital didn’t have the supplies or trained people, which led to this situation.  It made me feel better about my cesarean.  At least I didn’t feel it while it was happening!

I just read about Ines Perez who gave HERSELF a cesarean to save her baby.  Wow, 2 shots of alchohol, a new knife and a strong desire to save her baby’s life gave this mom the courage to do this.  Amazingly she and the baby survived. 

What a story.  Again, makes me appreciate the hospital I had my cesarean at.  Anesthesia, someone else to perform the surgery.
