My Interest in EFT part 2

Now you know how I got interested in energy healing.

Does Energy Work fit into Christianity?

I wanted to see how it fit into my Christian Beliefs.  I found a book called  Remembering Wholeness, which helped me realize energy work was a tool that God has given to us to help us in our lives.  She specifically talks about EFT, so that was my introduction to EFT.    I got many books and watched videos and learned how to do things on my own and also found a chiropractor who helps with releasing energy issues too.

Summer 2007

T1 still had some anger issues a year later and it was our chiropractor who got to the heart of his problems.  He was angry I hadn’t protected him and he felt that I had abandoned him while he was in the NICU.  I remembered that he had recurring dreams where I left him places since he was a little boy.  So she helped him to release these emotions.

Since then his anger has dropped from 8 (on a scale of 1-10) to a 2.

Helping MY Issues

Interestingly enough when I did the EFT training with Sondra, we came up with another issue I have with my son.  (This is a great reason to do EFT with someone else facilitating, I don’t think I would have found this on my own)  So T1 is 12 now and she was having me say, “It is easy to parent T1.”  (or something close to this)  I couldn’t say it.  I really felt it had to be hard to parent him.  Maybe because the last 12 years had been hard?   She helped me release that a bit and I continued to tap on it over the weekend I was at Trust Birth.

Guess what!  It has been much easier to parent him since getting home.

It sounds too easy.

I think that some people would read this and think, “NO WAY.”  Can something this simple bring about such fast results.  But it has in my parenting and in my Birth Work.

There have been studies done using EFT to work with military getting over PTSD and it has worked with them quickly too.  If it works for something as intense as that, it can certainly work for these much simpler emotions.   I know people who have used it to loose weight.  It is a great tool. A great overview video is The Tapping Solution.

That was a long answer, but I hope it shows why I am so excited about EFT for birth work and for parenting and for life!

Sharing is caring!

  1. EFT is great and I’ve used it often. Recently I discovered a program of energy work called “The Emotion Code” and “The Body Code.” The best way to describe it is “EFT at light speed.” As great as EFT is, The Emotion Code is so much faster and takes all the guess work out of trying to figure out just what issues are causing problems. If you’re interested, check it out at http://www.drbradleynelson.com. I’ve had some great successes with it.

  2. Hey Sheridan~
Great article, as always! I cleared my life-long asthma with EFT and have been working with more moms on clearing birth trauma (both theirs and their child’s.) Look forward to sharing more advanced tapping techniques with you next time we meet!

  3. The bit about anger issues with your T1 made me sit up and take notice. My oldest also has a lot of anger; parenting him has been HARD from day one. He was my cesarean baby, and I missed at least the first 8 hours of his life because the medicine they gave me made me completely loopy (and amnesiac – I can’t remember any of it.) Sometimes I wonder if his life and emotions would be different if it hadn’t happened that way? And then I think I’m a little bit crazy, because you have to admit that EFT sounds a little weird…and yet interesting… 😉 More to think about.

  4. I know that my life and my sons would have been different. It is something we work on all the time. I really recommend reading The Emotion Code, it explains everything so clearly and helps you learn how to help release things!

  5. Yay, Sheridan! I’m so glad you checked out Emotion Code and have had success with it. It’s been so helpful for my family as well. Our family life would be very different if I hadn’t learned how to release all that negative energy. (Still have plenty to work on as it is an ongoing process.) The Body Code has been immensely helpful as well. I’m still learning all there is to learn with that program, but the good it can do for ourselves and and our families is very promising.
