Baby Bond Review and Give Away

I loved nursing in public and frankly didn’t use a blanket or a cover of any kind.  There were a few times when I wish I had something, especially when I had a dress on and had to nurse from the top.  This tended to be only on Sunday and  I would go to the nursing lounge and dealt with it there.

Baby Bond Covers You, Not Baby

Well, if I had known about Baby Bond I would have had a solution! This is a nursing sash that allows moms to nurse discretely without covering up the baby.  I will admit I am a bit biased against the blanket or other “hiders”.  It seems silly to me to hide the baby and frankly my boys did not like being covered while nursing.  I liked to be able to see them and interact.

Baby Bond solves this issue and is a great product.  The material is really nice and it is comfortable and easy to use.

I showed it to and let some of my currently nursing friends play with it and they liked it.  But no one wanted their picture of them nursing on my blog.  So the picture on the left is from the Baby Bond website.

Nursing Tinky Winky

Since I don’t have a baby to nurse, I thought I would have Thing 2 take my picture “nursing” a doll.  But I couldn’t find a doll, with 3 boys those are fairly scarce.  I could only find a Tinky Winky.  Thing 2 did take a few pictures, but frankly they didn’t really capture the essence I was hoping for. It did give me a small flashback to my friend who posted about Nursing Johnny Depp. I think she chose more wisely than I and she was wise to have no photos to prove what she did.

I have a button down shirt on, unbuttoned and you can’t really tell because Tinky Winky’s head is so big, but The Baby Bond covers me well and Tinky Winky doesn’t have to be covered! Hmm, this would have looked much better with a baby.

  1. This seems like a really cool nursing cover! I have some of the more traditional blanket-like covers, but usually I just nursed my son without a cover. In the earlier days when the baby needs more assistance latching, i think this would be especially helpful. And I’m about to be a new nursing mama again–sometime next month!

  2. I’m expecting in January, and this seems like the best thing for nursing in public. I don’t want to cover my kid in public, but I want to be modest.

  3. I would love to win this. I’m due in January with our first and have been looking for something to “cover up” with but not cover up the baby. This would be excellent!

I’ve also had this on my google reader for a while now and liked your FB page. Thanks!

  4. This looks like a great product! I have ways to nurse modestly from the bottom of my shirt, but not from the top, at least not good ones. I also love the detachable burp cloth they have on it! I would love to win this!

I am already a follower through Google Reader and I’ve already “liked” the enjoybirth page on facebook.

I blogged about the give away and posted about it on a bulletin board.

The link to that is supposed to be to the Baby Bond facebook page doesn’t work, and it didn’t come up when I searched.

I’m not on Twitter yet…I know, I’m so behind the times.

  5. I would LOVE to win this! I have a 9 month old and she does not like to have her head covered while she nurses so this would be the perfect solution!

  6. I want it for Tracine. She just was looking at these online. I think its fabulous for mommys that are a little nervous nursing in public.

After Tracine gets her fair share of use I will get it back(:

I have also liked you on FB. I dont twitter.

  7. I would love to win this! My daughter doesn’t like the regular cover anymore and my husband hates it when I nurse in public! This would be perfect!!

  8. I would love to win this cover! I used a simple blanket with my son and have another on the way now and would love a better option!

  9. How neat! My boys never liked being covered either… One fell asleep if he was covered and the other just ripped the cover off every time:) I’d love to win this to try with my sweet baby girl who is due to arrive in 7 weeks!

  10. I have an almost five month old who doesn’t like being covered while nursing. It would be fantastic to win this! Even if I don’t win, I am excited to look into the Baby Bond — what a great idea!

  11. Hi Sheridan!

I followed you on twitter and retweeted the post about the contest. I also liked your page on facebook!

    Thanks 🙂

  12. OH I love it!!!! What a fantastic idea!!! None of my three ever liked being covered… with #4 on the way – it would be GREAT to have something to cover ME but not the BABY!! ;-D

We are on SUCH a strict budget this time around (the midwives are the biggest expense, but we also have A/O jaundice issues with each child and will have to finance the treatment after baby is born… $$$) not having to BUY all the little ‘extras’ is a HUGE plus!!

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  13. I love the Idea of the Baby Bond. my son has never liked being covered and when i do have to cover it is almost impossible to get him to latch on without giving a mini peep show to whoever is around. because of that reason I normally dont nurse in public, when i am out and about, he gets formula. To any nursing mom out there who goes even one feeding you can understand how uncomfortable that is. so this would be a perfect thing for me to use and it would solve all my problems

  14. I want a Baby Bond cover because I’m always looking for more discreet ways to breastfeed, and to stop my mother from constantly offering me a blanket or separate room to breastfeed.

  15. I liked both Enjoy Birth and Baby Bond on facebook and now I am leaving a comment…

It’s funny… just day before yesterday I stumbled upon the Baby Bond website and posted on my facebook if anyone had used it because I liked the idea of it. My baby dosn’t like to nurse under a cover much and I’m not afraid of nursing in the open but there are times that it would be nice to be covered. I’d love to try the Baby Bond!

  16. I’m pregnant with my first child and this seems like a real winner when it comes to breastfeeding. I’m planning on bringing baby to work with me after I return and this would be super handy!

  17. i love to win this nursing cover!
my baby’s due this coming march and want to have this nursing cover for her. She’s my first baby and want to give her all the best.
Using this Baby Bond will allow me to nurse her anywhere anytime.
i’m residing in the Philippines and think using this will be a great chance to promote the product to Filipinos.
i hope i win! thank you..

  18. i too nursed with out a cover for the most part, but had those moments where a cover or blanket was needed. i am expecting baby #2 in the next 2-5 weeks and would love an alternative to the blanket over the head or the traditional covers that leave both me and baby hot and in the dark 🙂

also, as a nursing counselor, i am always looking for great ideas to share with my contacts who are on the fence about breastfeeding. one of the issues often being that of exposing themselves in public…and an easy and convenient cover-up like the Baby Bond looks like a great solution!

  19. I’d love to win this, as my 16 month old tends to pop off and on a lot while feeding, doesn’t leave much to the imagination for passerbys lol 🙂

  20. Michelle Dahlberg

Looks very cool! I will be a new mom, and so I am very excited to nurse my new baby when he gets here, sometime in december. This product looks like a good way to bond with baby. I like the idea of not covering the baby completely. Thanks for the review.

  21. I’d love to win because in my experience, babies HATE being covered. This gives me coverage without making baby uncomfortable!

  22. This looks like a great product. I am a new mom and haven’t tried to nurse in public yet, but this looks like it would be a great solution, because I don’t like the idea of not being able to see my son’s face while nursing.

  23. I LOVE your website, I just stumbled upon it today so maybe today is my lucky day to win the Baby Bond Cover.

I have 2 kids and really wanted to have natural birth with both of them but ended up having a C-section the first time around and attempted a VBAC 2 months ago but after 36 hours of natural labor and no sleep, I ended up with another C-section. :(bummer.

I really wanted to breast feed my first and didn’t get to because the first C-section was so traumatic so this time around I am determined to breast feed as long as possible since I was unable to have a VBAC. The least I can do is Breast Feed and I could use all the help I can get to make that possible.

    Hopeful Breast Feeding Mommy!
