I love getting my boys in on the organizing act.  Sometimes by the end of the day – or a few days if I haven’t been keeping on them to pick up, the downstairs is flooded with their things!

This is how I used to do things – I will show you my new way next week!

DUMP

I have them dump everything (all the boys things) on the family room floor.  It tends to be put in baskets or buckets, but gets mixed up with everyone’s stuff and never gets put away!

SORT

Then they sort it into their buckets and baskets.

PUT AWAY

Then they bring their buckets up and put things away.

Whatever doesn’t get put away, goes in the give away basket in the garage.
