Alison’s homebirth midwife and assistant came over today. The whole birth team gathered together, so Dan, Grandma (who will be watching Abby) and I (as doula) was there too. It was lovely. I am so looking forward to this birth. It will be the first homebirth I attend!
The midwife, Michelle was great. She really trusts birth, you can tell. She trusts the moms too. It was so cool to see how she let Alison know, she is the one in charge!
I think I will learn a lot being there and I will really want a home birth after this!
You can read Alison’s thoughts on preparing for a Homebirth after Cesarean at her blog!
I actually met Alison through her blog, reading about her first birth and I noticed she was an author who lived in my town. I belong to a book club, so we read her book and she came out to talk to us! She was so nice that we invited her to join our book club, which she did! That is how we became friends! Then she took my Hypnobabies class and now I get to be her doula too!
I’m so excited that YOU’RE so excited! What an adventure, eh? Funny how the internet brings people together–we never would have even met, otherwise! Now we just have to send Baby lots of “Any time but the weekend of the Trust Birth conference” vibes. 🙂
Oh, today I got my Burke Williams 80 minute pregnancy massage. Oh. My. Heavens. It’s nearly bedtime and I’m still melty. 🙂
what a cool way to meet! you’re so lucky, i’d give my right arm to attend a home birth..
