I was thrilled to read in my Sunday Paper a 2 page spread on how Orange County OBs are working to lower cesarean rates. They had one page all about VBAC’s and how they are safe. 🙂
I have had 2 VBACs at Saddleback, which is one of the hosptials they highlight. It is by far the best hospital to VBAC in the O.C. I have attended many VBACs there as a doula as well.
I am so glad to see this information being shared in the media. I think it is an important reminder that parents need to choose their care provider and their birth location SO carefully! I love this chart comparing the cesarean and VBAC rates at the local hospitals.
You can see the UCI has a bit better rates for VBACs, but it is a teaching hospital and I would never want to birth at a teaching hospital.
