In January a woman died shortly after childbirth. It was a tragic loss. From that came a wonderful outpouring of support AND milk.
Friends and community members volunteered to breastfeed baby Moses. One mom still comes every morning at 9 AM with her baby in tow and nurses Moses. Some moms have more confusing schedules and one wonderful friend coordinates it all.
The line that made me cry was the dad who said, “He’s a healthy, happy, well-adjusted boy,” he said, “who has always known a mother’s love.”
It made me think of each of these mother’s who take time to mother this little boy for minutes at a time. I am sure Moses’ mother is looking down from heaven and is so grateful for their time and efforts.
What a beautiful gift they are giving and what a beautiful story to warm my heart.
Oh my gosh, that just makes me cry. How sad and how beautiful at the same time.
I am always amazed at the power of women to do good in the world… this small group of ladies changed this baby’s life and each person who is inspired by the story. This makes me want to find someone to help today… what a great way to kick off my lazy Saturday morning, I think I will go seize the day. Thanks!
That is so awesome. The link is broken and not taking me to the story. I would LOVE to read it.
Thanks for the heads up, I fixed the link!
Oh that is completely touching and wonderful.
A friend of mine, Sally, was one of the mothers that did this. She has told such wonderful stories about having get togethers with the family and the women that all did this. It’s so lovely to hear positive stories in this day and age.
