I typically do like to finish the bulk of my shopping before Thanksgiving. But usually I still have the boys and Rob to shop for.
Well, thanks to some great friends, I 95% finished shopping for everyone by Monday. Then yesterday another great friend watched B. while I wrapped everything I have bought. I didn’t put tags on anything, rather I wrote numbers on them and have a list with what the numbers are and who they are for. Then I hid them pretty well in my closet, way up high.
All I can say in regards to presents, is it is so much easier to buy things for a 4 year old than an 11 year old.
Not only that, but I have ordered my Christmas Cards and just finished writing our Christmas letter and will print those today. Maybe I will do the labels for the cards too?
Seriously, I am worried, when will I crash? What has possessed me? What am I going to do in December?
Oh, wait!
- I am in charge of designing and printing the family calendar.
- I have 2 doula clients due.
- Singing in Sing Noel.
- Volunteering at the live Nativity, Follow the Star.
- 3 different Book Club Christmas Parties. (Yes, I belong to 3 book clubs)
- Teaching a Hypnobabies Series.
- Decorating a Gingerbread house and a Gingerbread Train.
- Decorating our real house.
I guess I will stay busy.
I will say that one very inspirational find I have is a new Christmas CD! Every year for Sing Noel Victoria writes a Christmas song for the concert. They are always my favorite, but when we get the CD of the concert, it is always hard to hear either the singer or the pianist.
So I was THRILLED to hear she produced a CD of her songs. All About the Baby.
I got it on Sunday and I LOVE it. I haven’t found a Christmas CD I love since Harry Connick Jr Christmas CD, which came out in 1993. Maybe this new CD is what has inspired my Christmas Preparations? (Here is a link to my favorite song on the CD)
I think in my Christmas Frenzy I shall do a give away! So if you want to win a copy of All About the Baby leave a comment. I will pick a winner December 1st.
You are too busy! I feel overwhelmed just needing to clean out the guestroom!
sheridan…i’m excited to see if i get through this birth with hypnobabies…so thanks for your example
What a beautiful song! Thanks for sharing the information about this CD. I am compiling a bunch of songs for my birthing time to alternate along with my hypnobabies CDs, of course, and I have a feeling there are one or two here that will be perfect!
Whew, that made me tired just reading it!
I’m so impressed, Sheridan! I have only the grandparents left to buy for. I’m normally not even close to being done this early, but we celebrated Christmas this past Sunday since Randy is leaving soon. Otherwise, I’d still be procrastinating! LOL!
How on earth did you finish your shopping so early??
I’m happy I got my parents’ and sister’s presents 1/2 way done (and I’m going to be kind of busy in late December!!)
I’m very impressed!
Thanks for sharing about the CD. I’m excited enough to consider buying it if I don’t win.
Heck yeah I’d love to win this! I only have ONE Christmas CD. Pathetic, I know! And being a pastoral family this seems perfect.
Anyway, you ARE a busy woman! I still have a few things left to buy. I LOVE that you number the gifts. I’ve been wondering how I’m going to hide gifts when my girls are old enough to go snooping around and that is just perfect!
You do have a busy month ahead! I’m well on my way… do have the house to get organized though. I loved your gift numbering suggestion, and will be passing that idea along to my 4 adult children!
Sounds like a fabulous CD and one I would love to play for my grandchildren.. and myself. 🙂
Pick me! Pick me! 🙂 That sounds like a lovely CD, I love the title! Thank you for sharing it with us, Sheridan!
Nice music. I have been looking for some new Christmas music!
Good gravy, girlfriend, ship me some of your get-up-and-go, will you? I’m seriously lacking. I just started the gift list for everyone, and haven’t even thought about actually going and buying anything! Going out on Black Friday was always my favorite thing to do (I’m sick, I know) but NOT with two little ones, so there goes that tradition!
Count me in for the contest. Thank you!
Wow! You are so organized! I’m totally impressed with all you have done….I’ve got lots left to do! 🙂
Great contest! I’m in.
You are inspiring with all you do and get done. We were happy to B over. What a sweet boy…it must be his peaceful entrance into the world(; I would love the cd!
This sounds lovely! Have you listened to any of Kim Robertson’s harp music? She has some wonderful Christmas album’s out.
I just found your blog today, and so far I love it! I’m a doula and a mother of 5, and I recently had my first home birth. It was absolutely wonderful and I want to spread the good word about birth. It’s beautiful and amazing, and I want everyone to be able to experience it that way. I’m so happy to find your blog!
Sounds like a great one to gestate to over the holidays! Thanks for your blog — I read it regularly.
