I have been interested in different energy healing techniques since I first experienced one about 3 years ago. It helped me let go of my guilt surrounding Devon’s birth. I researched different things and have tried EFT on my own and my chiro does some energy releasing things as well. I feel that has really helped Devon let go of a lot of his anger from his birth. (Read about some of my experiences here)
So when I saw there was a pre-session on EFT, I was so excited. I have used it on myself for about 2 years, as needed. I also have used it at 2 births with good results, but wasn’t sure I was doing it “right”
It was a wonderful experience, I learned a lot. Most importantly I learned you can’t do it “wrong”. I learned some interesting things about myself in the process.
I like to be busy, I find it hard to slow down and just BE. I was contemplating that on my drive up to the conference. I learned some things that might help me to slow down and just BE sometimes. Since I like to be busy, I am sure I still will be, that serves me well at times. But maybe now I can slow down sometimes too. 🙂
To learn more about EFT go to www.emofree.com I hope to use it more in my doula work, to help moms let go of fears and work through birth trauma too.
What a great idea! I’ve used EFT before, too. That is *really* interesting about Devon’s anger being linked to his birth. What a fascinating concept.
I’m really interested in what you’re talking about, as I’ve been trying to find an effective method of emotional healing and balance for several years now. I’m not familiar with EFT specifically. Where can I find more info?
I have a friend who swears by EFT. I keep reading/hearing about it. Maybe I need to actually DO IT! Dan and I talked about it a couple of years ago and he said it makes sense to him why it works.
try the flower essence “dandelion” to help you slow down and just be
Ahhhh I love what you share here. At one of our San Diego Birth Network meeting our inservice was on EFT and the exercises were so powerful, and at the same time gentle. At a recent CAM meeting we did a little EFT too. I have shared it with my office and with my family but have not yet used it at birth. Can you elaborate on the situation during birth when you used EFT? Thanks Sheridan! ~♥~
It is amazing how our own birth can be related to so many things in our lives.
http://www.emofree.com/ This is a great place. There is also a video and book called Try It on Everything.
It is really easy to learn to do and pretty powerful!
Bri,
It is pretty easy and powerful stuff!
Sheridan
Thanks! I will try that.
Ok, I will work on a post about those experiences. It might take me awhile, as I want to finish the other Trust Birth posts. But I WILL get to it!
Hey Sheridan~
